In her book Montessori: The Science Behind the Genius Lillard wrote, “suggests the modern research in psychology, the Montessori system is much more on how children learn and develop the traditional system.” She goes on to explain that although the current public school system better in terms of managing thousands of students who believe that children waiting for empty containers out to be filled with the exact same information with the same exact methods, is faulty and can be connected to children who perform academically behind left. This is a reward and punishment system of education is not necessarily combines the most effective way to educate our youth. One of the basics principles of the Montessori philosophy that children are motivated by nature, are rewarded by their own successes and achievements and use failure as a platform for improvement, not punishment.
There seems to be a much larger differences in academic achievement and social outcomes for students who have at the Montessori schools in the region compared to lower socio-economic participation in public schools. Lillard found that the yield spread, as you went up the social ladder between traditional schools and Montessori schools narrowed. There was also a correlation between the improvement in school performance and found the Montessori method for people with physical, mental, and attention. These results are significant in that it is an alternative for families with low-level Economic and disabled children receive a quality education that is better for them than what traditional schools can deliver works.
Curiously, during research for his book and his research with the University of Virginia, Lillard was able to find any major flaws in the Montessori method of education. That is, when you realize that there remains much work to do, and that all Montessori schools are the same. There are three schools of thought in the Montessori method. As already mentioned, there are purists, and those to contextualize the main philosophy in order to adapt to specific communities. There is also a school, a strong emphasis on nature, ecology and science.
