The Nationwide Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (or GBVS) is part of a government plan to get more businesses connected to full fibre broadband and it will provide vouchers worth £2,500 to enable small businesses to connect to the service that have 249 employees or less.

Vouchers are available to customers of broadband suppliers who have registered for the scheme. Knowsley CVS has been contacted by Ecodial, which is a company registered in our area to provide this service and it is keen to participate in an information session to answer any queries our member groups might have.

Businesses that already have a gigabit capable connection are not eligible for a voucher.

Vouchers will support the capital costs of delivering a new gigabit capable connection to a business premises.  The new connection must have a minimum speed of 100 mbps and represent at least a doubling of speed compared to the service the business currently has.  The initiative will only support the costs of broadband products that meet the step-change, performance and consumption requirements of the scheme.
